I would be curious to know this answer as well. My wife and I are looking to purchase a 2008 X3 soon and have noticed the rear heated seat option is not very common. I have been wondering how difficult or possible this install would be.

Also, JCL mentioned he had heard the heating units for the seats on all X3's were OEM. This would be amazing if it is in fact the case. I can't imagine BMW spending the $$$ to install these heat units on ALL X3's. Seems too good to be true. Fingers crossed though...
