how to remove radio for AUX plug installation

sorry for being such a scardy cat

I've remove the central aircon vent...and have removed the 2 screws on the top side...

am in the process of removing the radio/center console trim....but am really afraid that it might break...

is there any other screw that I might need to take out before pulling out the central radio trim?...

this is my first attempt...so am sorry for being cautious

You have to remove the Climate Control Module to access the radio. AFAIR, once you have removed the 2 screws from the top edge, if you grasp the Climate module at each side, it should withdraw - it's only clipped in once the 2 screws are out.

Do NOT try to remove it by prying the radio surround as you may snap the surround. By prying the module, that's the strongest part. You can then unplug the climate module and set it aside to then remove the radio.

but here are some more concerns

i do have the manual control type for the aircon....so does your tip of prying from the climate control hold? do I pull this out by slowly wedging the sides and then the bottom

since I have the manual type of aircon control....should I pull out the knobs first or are these removed as a whole with the unit

I don't have access to the TIS at the moment, but looking at the ETK, it doesn't show any bowden cables on the manual aircon panel, so it 'looks' like it's all electronic.

I'm certain it won't do any harm to slowly prise the module out, as even if there are bowden cables attached, similar to the upper fresh air vents, there will be slack to allow them to be attached/detached.

Just do it slowly and carefully. Once you have overcome the resistance of the clips, it should slide out easily. Any resistance needs to be carefully checked, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
