Ipod Adapter
Hello All - Picking up my new to me X3 on Thursday and starting to shop for toys now. Has anyone had any success with any particular hardwired Ipod adapter with the X3 (2008). I have one in my X5 that hardwired into the CD Changer harness in the rear of the car. I have searched and see a couple options but was looking for direct experience. Thanks. John

Do you have nav? The PA12BMW from USAspec seems solid for me, however since I have nav text support does not work and I only have direct control with the ipod. Besides that though, the steering controls still work and the unit plays and charges great! Song seeking is also fast, and it seems like a really solid unit

I used the Dension Icelink on my X5. On our X3, the car came with an factory aux input at the rear of the console, so we just use that on trips.

Are there any that work with the Nav. Where the text will show on the Nav screen?

The text will work in the nav if you have the dip switches set standard. Unfortunately, as soon as you switch to the maps for example, it switches back to text in like 7 seconds so you can't use the nav system itself while text is on. I have it hooked up to have no text and it has an aux input, and it is really solid plus the sound is great. You can't go wrong with a USAspec. It's a PA12 and they have great customer service as well, just my $.02.
Besides, text display might seem nice but not while you're driving and you should know the name of the song that is playing on YOUR ipod

Try the Dice Media Bridge, you'll also get bluetooth handsfree for answering your phone.
