New Tires for a 2006 X3

Hit that 45K on the 2006 X3 and tires are looking a bit worn.

Any suggestions/deals out for some good tires?

Right now looking at:

1 - Michelin Primacy MXV4
2 - Continental ContiTouringContact AS
3 - Continental ExtremeContact DWS
4 - Pirelli PZero Nero

Hello from Athens-Greece,
I had the same concern over the past months, I have an X3 M packet with 235/50/18 front and 255/45/18 rear. It was a real hassle to find tyres that fit my sizes and have an "all weather performance".

Recently I purchased TOYO PROXES ST. They are ok and a bit cheaper than Michelin's and Pirelli's. I have no problem up to now ridding mainly on dry (high temp) and wet. Snow - I am waiting for winter time!

Although, if I was in the US, I would have chosen the "Continental ExtremeContact DWS" (they are not available for Europe). I think they have the best reviews!

Thank you ijordan for your suggestions.

Historically I've just driven TireRack which is only a couple of hours from where I live.

I did have an odd experience there though last time I purchased tires; unhappy campers (unhappy with their jobs and the "boss") and actually two blems making me return to fix. Turned me off a bit. This was about 3-4 years ago and the tires were not for my bimmers but rather another automobile. Since then I haven't returned; cuz its really not worth the drive when it happens more than once.

I ended up purchasing Pirelli PZero Nero tires locally for an OK price. I noticed some major wear on the insides of all of my old tires. Something you really wouldn't notice. Dealer did suggest replacing tires on last visit. Checking the alignment indicated that all was well. Just kind of odd wear; never previously experience it with any other automobile that I own. (also have Lexus and MB).

If you have the staggered wheel option, I would suggest looking at the tech details on tirerack.com and weigh heavily towards getting a front/rear set that have the smallest differences in revs per mile. Your transfer case will love you for it.

Thanks Rick.

I have noticed that the Pirelli PZero tires have a much softer ride than the originally installed tires.
