Which coolant?

Hi there, excellent forum, I've been here a couple of days and already received some great info, thanks.

My coolant level is slightly below the minimum for the first time since owning the car so I was going to top it up. I don't want to mix brands though, so does anyone know what make of coolant BMW use in their 2.0 diesel X3? I did call the local dealer but they said they'd get back to me and haven't yet...

Use the OEM BMW coolant. *Remember to mix it 50/50 with distilled water.

I just go with the original BMW coolant from the dealer. I believe it is a concentrate so you may need to add distilled water, but what BMW sells in the UK may be different (the US ones are made by someone in the US for the US).

Does anyone know what brand BMW sell? I can go to the nearest dealer but it's about 30 miles and would rather use something closer...

Just out of curiosity, what is the colour of the coolant? Is it supposed to be green or is it some other colour?

The reason why I ask is because the X3 that I recently purchased had green coloured coolant in the tank.

My notes say your European X3 2.0d will use the same coolant as all other BMW models. Here in the US it is blue, I would assume the BMW coolant is Blue in Europe as well.
