Chrome free leather in my X3 from 2007?

Hi, I found out that I am allergic to chrome/chromium which is used to cure leather. I therefor wonder if anyone knows if specifically the steering wheel and gear knob leather in my E83 LCI could possibly contain chrome/chromium?

I had never heard about chrome allergy until a year ago when I tested for it, but it is a pain. I get hand eczema mostly on my right hand and also had had to buy new hiking boots. My swedish brand leather gear are made with chromium cured leather and I get skin irritatation when I am on week long hikes/hunting trips with wet weather.

Volvo cars now have chrome free interiors: All leather in all Volvo car interiors chrome-free for allergy-sufferers

PS. I asked BMW in Sweden twice with no answer for months so I just dropped BMW Germany the same question. Will post here if I get an answer.
