Wow, very early facelift. But all they have to do is paint the bumpers: instant facelift.

Thx for the link, Lemans.

True, and it would look a million times better.

The X3 may be the only car in existence that doesn't have painted bumpers. . It doesn't make any sense and definitely cheapens the car's value.

Black plastic bumpers is something not appropriate for BMWs... You pay 40 grand or so, and you expect PAINT!

Ya, so the paint can chip and scratch and after 2 years will look terrible. Dammit, for 40 large, why can't they paint my bumpers!

Yea I don't exactly see the difference either....

I never understood the concept of non-painted bumpers. Our bumpers on the X5 are partially unpainted too.....whyyy???

The old Mercedes ML SUVs used to look this way too when they first came out....

The Audi A4s looked like this just a mere two years ago.....whyyy?

Even the BMW E36 3-series used un-painted, grey bumpers at one time...

it's always a bad decision that most car companies end up changing....so BMW needs to work on it for the next-gen X vehicles.

Maybe they do it so that sales of their aero-kits for both vehicles (x5 and x3) will increase, I know I wouldn't buy an X3 unless I had the aero kit on it. It's too much plastic for my taste

Face-lifted X3

Pre-facelift

Not a noticeable difference unless seeing them side by side.

Yeah, I agree...the diff is slight, at least by those pics.
Everyone's taste is diff, but there are certainly some tweaks
they could do to front and rear to soften/blend in/stylize, the
lower nose and that unique rear tail light look.

The overly large black bumpers are something one has to look past, to get into the image of the car; not necessarily a good thing to Have to do.

I like the X3 as it "sorta" looks close to a protein deficient lil' bro of the X5. TheMissus likes it too...but a matter of overcoming inertia and justifying/rationalizing the near $30K needed on top of trading in daFridge. Speaking of which, I sent emails off to 4 Stlrs on Thursday, with my exact wants, X3-wise: not a an email or call back, yet. What is it w/these foofoo Stlrs? One would think the internet "mgr" would have been all over me, quote and bs-wise?!
