OK. I'm totally confused.
I have a brand-spanking -new 2006 X3 with Nav, SIRIUS, the whole thing... My question: Is it all possible to control the Navigation system with my voice? It seems like it should be - but only my bluetooth/phone seems to function this way. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks! Jason

With the X5 there is a separate stand-alone VR module that provides the capability to control the nav system with basic voice commands.
I'm not sure if the blue connector is present in the X3 or not to allow you to install this module. See http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-10.html

Thanks!
Thanks for the reply!
Has anyone out there found the "blue connector" on the '06 X3 to make the voice nav features functional? If so please let us know. It is really, really hard for me to understand why BMW would not include voice functionality with the X3 Nav unit. The interface controls (radio knobs), for the X3 Nav is impossibly awkward and complex to use. It seems as if the unit was designed explicitly to be directed and managed by voice. The Nav feature is critically important to me. If I would have known that voice was not an option for using it I would have gotten a sedan with i-drive which is far more intuitive. So, so frustrating! Any thoughts? jas |
