Fuel & oil filter change

Hi,
Just wondering if you suggest that we change the fuel filter at the same time as doing the oil & filter change on a 2006 X3 diesel?
Looks like it's fairly easy to change at home, and hopefully we can reset the service interval following the directions listed online.
Also any recommendation for the best oil & oil/fuel filters available in Australia for this model, but not buying through the dealer?

Cheers

Yes, change it. also look up RMEuropean.com and check what the OEM parts for those components are. Find your local online retailer and cross reference part # and brand.

Oil: Liquimoly 5w30 is BMW OEM. They make it for them.
Filter : Mann
F-Filter :I believe Hengst is OEM.

I don't believe that Liquimoly make engine oil for BMW. They don't publish that they even meet the BMW specs. BMW doesn't list them either. They may make some lubricants such as grease for BMW, not sure.

Lots of companies make filters, but just buying a Mann or other filter doesn't ensure you are getting the same filter as the engine manufacturer spec's. Other manufacturers can cross reference to one that physically fits, but you don't know the filter media, the dirt capacity, the micron rating, etc. So, you don't know how long it will last, even if it physically fits.

Pretty sure they don't actually have a relationship with BMW. They are advertised in many BMW related publications though.

OE oil for e70 35d here in the states is Castrol. Not sure about the about the X3 here or down there in Oz where the op is.
