Question How to remove exterior door lock

I have followed the scarce internet information and limited youtube videos to get everything apart within the door itself, but I cannot seem to get the key tumbler rod to separate from the door actuator assembly. The only way to get both parts out is to separate them, but I can't see how to get them apart. I am in the process of swapping the key tumbler into another (undamaged) door.

Can someone please give me some tips on how to separate that rod from the actuator assembly? I'd greatly appreciate it.

I actually got a call back from Perillo BMW in Chicago and the tech said that all I have to do to swap out the tumbler is to remove the top allen screw in the side of the door and the tumbler should pull out. I'm pretty sure I have tried this, but I'll give it another shot.

I figured as much. The tech was full of $h!t. Removing the Allen screw only allows the lock cover to come off...nothing more. Somebody please help me with a technique to get this thing out? I am close to cutting the door panel apart to get it out.
