2007 X3 3.0si slow acceleration?

Just test drive a 2007 x3 3.0si with 80k mile on it. I feel the car is kinds slow when accelerate. The N52 is about 260hp,so before the test drive I was imaging the car should be much quicker than my E53 3.0i, but actually is was about the same, may be just a little quicker. some data online shows the car is doing 0-60 in 7.1sec witch is same as my e46 323i manual, but i still feel my 323i is much faster.
Is is what the 3.0si accelerate suppose to feel like? or there are something wrong with the engine or tranny that slows down the car?
but other than that, the engine was as very smooth and I feel that x3 is a solid machine just like the X5.
I'm still trying make a decision for buying this x3.
Any suggestion I would appreciate it.

We still enjoy our 2007 3.0si. We have the manual transmission. It feels sportier than our 2003 X5 3.0 automatic did (as it should, being a lighter vehicle, and with 35 more hp).

Manual makes it more engaging to drive. Don't believe it has any significant effect on acceleration times.
