Headlights on, parking lights on, interior lights on, ignition off car parked?

I parked my X in the garage and went in the house. About three hours later my wife came home and parked beside me and came in the house and asked if there was any reason why my lights were on??

Went into the garage and sure enough my headlights, parking lights and interior lights were all on. There was no key in the ignition at the time. I brought my key fob to the X and locked/unlocked/locked (cycled through) to see if the lights would respond as normally ( turn off after locked). Yes- they all turned off after locking. The headlight dial was in auto 'a' (to the left at 10 o'clock).

Other than this strange occurrence I have had no like issues. Is this a possible sign that the battery is going or something else?
