Traffic here very slow so I am not too hopeful but I need to remove my rear bumper for tow package install.

Anyone got instructions, link to BMW manual etc ?

Is it an OE BMW hitch you are installing?

When I bought my X5 hitch at the dealer years ago, they told me that the instructions had been re-released/updated, and they went next door to the service counter and printed out the service bulletin for me. When I bought my X3 hitch they checked the service bulletins and told me that the print out I had in hand was the most recent version.

I would expect your dealer to be able to print out the technical service bulletin for the OE hitch installation when you buy the hitch kit.

its a big job...I paid 100 to my bodyshop to do it after seeing the level of "stuff" The Curt hitch is the best I've seen for non-OEM about $130 shipped.

PS I installed 2 hitches in x5's (and removal) over the years

We are leasing a X3 and would like to put a hitch on it for pull snowmobiles. U-Haul hitch- approximately $400 installed, BMW hitch- $1000. I'm afraid if we go the budget route via U-Haul we are going to get a hefty bill for damage when we turn the car in.
Any thoughts?

I haven't used an OE BMW hitch on an F25, but I have installed on an E53 and E83. Considering the mounting attachment to the unibody, and the electrical integration, the OE hitch is the only one I would consider.

Consider buying the OE BMW hitch and having it installed by your favourite independent shop. Often much cheaper than the dealer.
