Hmm...the interior lights coming onis anther indication that the culprit is more likely a door latch or actuator issue rather than a hood switch. The hood swithdoesn'tturn on interior lights...but a open door actuator or door latch would turn on interior lights.

An unofficial way to determine which door may be the culprit (wiithout using softwarehardware to communicate with the vehicle) is to individuually open the doors and see if/when/how the interior lights react. If the lights don't come on & go off as they should when a door is opened then closed...then it will be the culprit. This obviously takes a few minutes to diagnose since you have to wait to see the reaction for each door. don't forget the tailgate, too.

Good luck.

Perhaps there's a critter inside your. You do know that there's a sensor that can detect motions inside the X when it is armed.

Hi
Did you resolve the issue with the alarm activating, had DIS v57 on mine but shows no faults. Disconnected the bonnet switch and sometimes the interior lights come on and off, checked all door actuations with lights, coming close to pulling my hair out.
Any advice appreciated

It's the ultrasonic sensor above the mirror that can tell if someone is inside the car or reaching into an open window.

I think EODguy means Hall Effect sensor... which is not what the interior motion sensor is.

Hall effect sensor are used in the door latches in place of micro-switches (while they are more complex to implement, they are more reliable).

The interior motion sensor is a plain old ultra-sonic system.

But, yeah, as EODguy says, these can also give false alarm triggers.

Or should be more reliable. The switch on my driver's door lock failed after 3 years (original BMW part). Quite frustrating renewing the lock again because of this kind of failure.
