What happens if the OP uses their other key? Just asking because it's been brought up in several BMW forums that when the new style keys are left in the ignition and the battery dies...there have been multiple cases where that key no longer worked to start the vehicle...whereas another key for that vehicle will work.

Yeah, it looks grn/wht in the picture but it is solid green on the plug side of the diode.

Fuse 15 in the glove box is 5A. Am I looking at the wrong fuse?

I have 3 keys, tried them all.

The wire color at the connector to the alternator is solid green. Solid green goes to the diode looking thing and then grn/wht from there.

The gen light on the dash is still lit if that means anything.

trader4 I could kiss you right now.

When you said it also powers the tranny control I felt tingles run down my back.

BLOWN FUSE IT IS!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will replace and post back with the results.

Buttoned it all up and went for a ride around the block and all is back to what it was.

Still have the battery warning light on so I will still have to figure out what's up with that. Confirmed that the battery is charging.
