Had another great work session today on the X5, got lots done:
-Installed new secondary air pump. No more jet takeoff sound! -Installed new/used aux fan. Better A/C performance and no more fan code 141. -Installed new coolant hose (had a questionable seal) and coolant flush. -Polished headlights (Depot headlights aren't in the budget right now) -Oil change to Rotella T6 5w40. I really love this truck now, so smooth and quiet to drive. Still to do: -Rear leveling sensor has a code, need to investigate -Install new windshield washer pumps, none work. -Fix driver door key lock, it just spins- key doesn't engage lock mechanism. -Want to install new door weatherstrip -Dynavin Nav install -New steering wheel -Steering column tilt electronics not working. -Trans service, maybe ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wow those headlights look good. What did you use to do that? I think I might go that route for now since I am amassing quite a list of parts for my MT to get a bunch of preventative things done.

Just 1100 grit wet sand and Menzerna FG400 compound on a rotary buffer, seen in pics. You can use any compound and follow up polish to get same results. The key is to remove enough with the sandpaper. If you don't remove all of the clear coat from the plastic then it'll yellow again or stay yellow. Just need to follow up with a UV resistant coating like wax or sealant...Or a new clear-coat.

Menzerna FG400, the best compound known to man
![]() Dean, I'm a huge fan of your Flex and Menz compounds, but an even bigger fan that you are using my favorite motor oil, Rotella T6 ![]() Since you are a good dude in case you didn't know, you can replace the spinning door lock with this: RegulatorFix.com
