Rotella T6 is amazing oil! You can get it for $19/gal on Amazon right now, and Shell is offering a $5 mail in rebate per gallon. Score!

^Absolutely agreed on T6, I'm usually grabbing it at Wally World for $23/gallon. I use it in the X5 and my 1700cc Triumph Thunderbird as well, works phenomenally in both. I may start using it in my Scag mower with Kawi FH500V twin cylinder as well, currently using 10w-30 Mobil 1 in it.

Only thing I haven't and probably won't use in is my Wifes 4cyl 2011 Rav4, Toyota calls for 0w-20 or 5w-20, I've been using Mobil 0w-30 year round though and its been great, the 20weight scares me, way too thin.

It worked awesome. The C ring that holds the long stick looking part needed to be polished on the bench grinder because it had burs on the edge which were getting caught on the pin and housing and the key wouldn't spring back into position sometimes. Once trimmed and polished and greased it works like butter.

Just to revive this thread a little bit...

I recently bought a 2002 4.6is which is going to replace this gem of a 4.4.

I've put abouit 15k miles on it while I've had it, and it has been a pleasure for every minute. Made a few cross country road trip vacations and even hauled some cars with it as a tow rig. We've loved it!

A few months ago I had also replaced the driver seat switch control module, which remedied the non-functional seat memory/steering wheel adjustments. Aside from that and oil changes it hasn't needed anything else.

I'll probably be listing it in the classifieds soon.

That was a great thread. GL with the new 4.6. I feel like I need to do this for my 187k 3.0 but do not have the time or guts at this point.

Sweet thread. Nice job on the 4.4, and congrats on the 4.6. How does the 4.6 feel in comparison? I've only ever had a 3.0 and now this 4.8is. So it was a huge power upgrade.

Good luck with the 4.6, I cant wait to put my new knuckles and brakes on! might even source out an "iS" decal for my 3.0i , I figure with the sport package, and some monster brakes it wouldn't be a poser! lol!
