Injen Fogs and ECS Grille

New Injen Fog Lights $29 on eBay to replace my old pitted OEM ones.



Fitment was a little tricky, and the connector is slightly different than OEM so will need to wire / solder some sort of adapter with Radio Shack parts I think.

Someone will want to buy those OEM projector fogs I believe if you are going to sell them.

I did the opposite as you and bought the Valeo projector fogs from the dealer and junked my reflector fogs years ago. Love the projectors in the fogs on the early E53's.

Yeah I figured the OEM ones are better but I didn't want to mess with resurfacing the lenses like I did for my headlight lenses. Although they are small it wouldn't be very difficult just some high grit sandpaper and buffing.

What do you think I can get for them? I'll probably wait until I see how these ones work out first before throwing them up on the auction block...

I saw your other post. So you got your grills sorted out - fitment wise ?


I just did my 1st plasti-dip job (speedpass-toll transponder). Easy peasy.

Now to work up the balls to grab the 2nd set of grills I have to blak them out

Depends how good of shape they are in. They are glass lenses so honestly I wouldn't sand them, maybe polishing with a machine and Ceriglass is all.

I paid $200 for a pair new from the dealer for reference.

Reminder. ANYTIME you polish out any lense, make sure you either recoat it back with the proper UV grade catalyst. If not of that nature, put a film on top, which does help quite a bit.

@jsoto - the grilles are still gapped. ECS said they were going to send me a label to return these and get another set but haven't heard from them. Also I hear you on the UV coating thing. I got some VHT nightshades and clearcoat for the headlight lenses. I plan to do a very light layer of VHT then the clear to protect the lenses. I might do another round of sanding since i need to take the headlights off anyway since there seems to be some sort of wiring issue with the AE's

@Ricky Bobby - good info. Maybe I will try cleaning them up before selling or maybe even swap them back out depends on how I like the reflectors.

wish ECS had the shadowline version of the grille for the X5. I got one for the E39 - looks great and matches the shadowline perfectly. Fitment was perfect and snug unlike the ebay ones that keep rattling and coming off at times
