PDC retrofit

Hello,
I would like to retrofit full PDC system in my 2006 E53. As far as I understood, I need following:
1. Module with buttons (one above ashtray)
2. PDC sensors with brackets
3. PDC module
4. Wiring from PDC module to rear PDC sensors
5. Gong
6. Programming

So far I found items 1,3,4,5.

I am in doubt about PDC module. Wiring connectors from rear PDC do not fit into PDC module.
I have white one with number 66 21 6916 407. Is it the right one? Or I need black one?

Also, my E53 has High Cluster and Bi-xenon. Does this mean that PDC is pre-wired?

Please, tell me what else do I need?

Thanks!

The link below is an excellent DIY retrofit guide and will show which wires to look for to determine if your X is pre-wired for PDC. Good luck!

I did the retrofit on my 2001. The hardest part was cutting the holes in the bumpers. I got all components (8 sensors, console switch assembly, PDC module, rear sounder and rear bumper wiring harness) with exception of the sensor trims and mounts off ebay and ordered the trims and mounts from tischer. Due to the option level on mine it was prewired. Just had to release and route the front sensor wires, install the console switch assembly, release rear sounder wire and install sounder, plug in and install the module, plug in and route the rear sensor harness. Facelift models have different front corner sensors so make sure to note that when sourcing parts.

Thank you for reply! Do you know, by any chance, if PDC modules are the same for facelift?

I have not personally confirmed if the parts are interchangeable for functionality but I can confirm that they are 2 different part numbers. Physically, if I recall correctly, the older ones have one each blue, white and black connectors on the module and the newer ones are all black but somehow recall that the connectors are the same for both.

Cool

I did the PDC retrofit in my 2003 X5, I had the prewiring up front, but had to add the rear wiring harness, the rear gong (by the rear right side fuse box), the controller (in the battery compartment beside the trailer hitch module) Switch module (below the stereo )and all 8 of the sensors and sensor brackets. There are different color sensors/plug types for pre and post facelift trucks. RealOEM.com was a great source of part numbers.
I spent a great deal of time in various local wreckers looking around for parts. finally I ended up purchasing the wiring harness and sensor clips from an online supplier.
The toughest part is drilling the holes in the bumpers. even though the marks are on the insides, its still un-nerving to pole holes in the bumper, my advice, go slow, measure many times and test fit the sensors!! in the end it was a fun addition, and useful too! maybe even more so than the compass mirror retrofit! lol!
good luck! lots of good write ups about PDC in here! the other good advice i got was to put down a large blanket when taking off the rear bumper cover, this will protect the plastic cover from scratches!! (and it did!)

I added the trailer hitch mod at the same time as i did the PDC since i had the bumper off already!

So you did an OEM retrofit? Did you buy the now unavailable oem kit or did you piece it together with parts from ebay/junkyards?
