honestly, if you want bluetooth, just buy this unit or something similar
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00G...f_rd_i=desktop i just installed (aka, plugged in) in my 06 X5 and it works fine, the quality is really good too. And it lets me connect 2 devices simultaneously. Which is great because I can have my ipod playing music via bluetooth and if I get a phone call, the music stops and my phone rings through the speakers and allows me to take the call....
