Do 4.4i sport package equipped X5s have a different rear air spring than non-sport?

I will be ordering new Arnott air springs for my 2004 4.4i with sport package. I know that sport package equipped BMWs have different ride heights and spring rates, so thinking that the X5 with sport package would require a different rear air spring. Can anyone confirm? Anyone know Arnott part numbers for correct air spring?

This can easily be confirmed using realoem.com or bmwfans.info and looking up the rear air springs/struts. The part database should list both springs...probably with the option code listed in the supplemental column for the sport pkg option.

Using the correct 11 digit part number for how your X5 is optioned..will also help you select the correct item on Arnott' website.

EDIT: just went to Arnott' website & entered my model, year, & SLS option. I was offered 4 springs...sport or comfort (left & right rear). Then when I clicked on a spring for more detail...it gives the BMW 11 digit part number. Kind of hard to make a mistake in my opinion regardless of which method you use. Comfort springs for regular suspension or sport springs for sport pkg.

just as an FYI to anyone else wondering if they can put Sport Suspension in their X5 that was NOT sport from factory...
Vehicles equipped with the the Sport Suspension from the factory have firmer, shorter springs that result in a lowered vehicle stance, along with shock absorbers that have been valved to yield firmer dampening.

I ordered off eBay yesterday. 2 for $200.24. Checked to make sure they had them in stock and asked about delivery time before ordering. Should have them by Thursday.

BTW, I decided to go pull one of my air springs yesterday to check for a part number since I have a sport model. after removing the wheel, and air spring clips, then bleeding off the air, I removed the main air line from the air reservoir to the Air spring, ......and then noticed that I was looking at the air spring number on top of the air bag. So,....no need to remove the air bag to check part number folks.

Very different air springs for regular and sport models. Check the Arnott web site, you can get the correct part numbers there.

He could have gotten the part nbr in less than 30 seconds by clicking on the direct link to the Arnott website in the link in my reply in post #2....or have gotten the part nbr in about 3-4 clicks using realoem.com and his VIN.

But there's always something to learn by wrenching on your vehicle...but that's not the way I would have gone just to get a part nbr. when you can use just your fingers and access to the internet.

Sport Air Spring (orig equipment BMW 11 digit part nbr is listed at these direct links):
