electricalserv x5 is on a distinguished road
Hi that first noise , I really have know Idea, but the second, I had the same problem , You have to clean Your CCV to the intake manifold and replace the seals also.
How is the service record on the car? Was the oil changed often? How many miles?
You bought a Needy Mistrist,
I would
1] Change the spark plugs[NG titanium]
2] change and clean the CCV on both heads and the throttle body[it is easy to do]
3] change the oil with Castrol titanium and BMW filter
4] get some fuel injector clean for the fuel and filler her up and run her for a long drive[after You figure out that other noise.
5]clean the MAS sensor, new air filter.
6] go over all the vehicle and check for leaks[check the alternator seal,if it blows it will dump almost all Your oil ].
The best thing to do is to start at the top work Your way down on the list, but I am sure there will be other problems along the way so hang in there.
the other problem with the n62 4.8is is the valve stem seals so that is why I recommend the Castrol titanium oil,it cost more but it is buying You time in Your heads.......
