Jason,
It is soo much lighter steering when you maneuver at low speed. It is getting progressively stiffer with speed. After I upgraded my tires and wheels from 235/65-17 to 255/50-18 it was really noticeable increase in effort to maneuver or park. The Servotronic resolved this issue. Back in 2013 I paid close to $300 for the A1 Cardone rebuilt rack and $150 for the valve. Please note that Servotronic rack is not the same as a standard one – it has an opening to install Servotronic valve. The two prong plug on the left strut tower is the one for Servotronic valve. Part # for the valve 32106788212. I see one on Partsgeek for $155.

Big spender today

I took my 2004 silver bullet in to get the valve stem
Seals replaced.
He knows me well, I told him to fix everything that's
under the "while we are in there...." catagory.
This repair will address timing cover gaskets, alternator
bracket and valve stem seals.
I'm hoping this will give me another 100K miles out
of my loved 4.4.

Can't get a warrant of fitness over here with the SRS light on.

Pesky thing to sort too. Often triggered by removing a seat or door without disconnecting the battery first but I guess it may represent an actual fault too.

To get back on topic, my '05 will click over 200,000km sometime in the next few months. Not quite 200,000 miles (320,000km) but still a good innings... And it is still the best drive ever...

Was the bottom end of the engine still holding up? Compression still good, oil consumption reasonable etc?
