Rear Defroster Question
I have a question about my 2003 X5. The drivers side rear window has a defroster (you can see the heating elements) but the passenger side does not. Is this how it should be and if so what is the point of being on one side only? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The "heating elements" you are referring to is actually the antenna for your radio and also your GPS if im not mistaken.. and yes, its only on the drivers side.

Unless you are RHD...then it's on the "passenger's side".
![]() But ditto X5Moe4.4...his answer is correct...the wiring in the rear left cargo area window (between the C & D pillars) is an antenna. The FZV (keyless entry) & FM2 antenna is in the rear sunvisor area...along with the GPS antenna...and the diversity amp is located below the left rear cargo window to which the AM/FM antenna wires run. ![]() (#1 = phone antenna; #2 = FZV/FM2 antenna; #5 & #6 are antenna cables that hook up to the antenna integrated into the left rear cargo window) http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E5...nna_diversity/ ![]() (the FZV/FM2 antenna receiver can be seen in the pic below) ![]()
