To get perspective mode, go to settings.
Long press menu button till screen changes to more settings hidden before.
Scroll to bottom to locate perspective mode. select it and turn it on.

I must be doing something wrong. I have gone into the menu function and there isn't an option for settings - just computer config, and others but no settings. I've also just discovered that I've lost all my 'mode' functions too...pressing the mode button results in nothing happening! Help please, as I no longer have any music to listen to.
I tried re-loading the software update CD, but the screen said my software was already up to date. Not sure what I've done wrong here, but my wife won't be impressed that's for sure... Any and all suggestions appreciated.

What a fu**ing muppet I am sometimes... Reason my audio didn't work is because I accidentally pressed the power button off...
All working now, as it was before. That said, I still can't change the aspect of the navigation to perspective mode, as my menu doesn't have a 'set' or 'settings' option strangely. Any suggestions?
Successfully downloaded AU V19 high maps (whereis) and burnt image to disc. Loaded and all seems to work a treat. This is a HUGE achievement for someone like me, who generally stuffs things like this up royally! Would appreciate hearing from anyone else who suffers the same lack of 'settings' option in their menu.

@kvc no idea on the missing settings in the MENU screen.

The folks in Navigation sub-forum may be able to help.

Hey Ven - thanks for your reply and suggestion. I think I'll leave well enough alone for a while and undertake a bit more research when I have the time. At the moment, all is good and while I don't have the perspective view, I can live with what I've managed to do so far (software update, night mode and updated maps). Cheers ;-)

I thought I had the perspective view when I first installed but I must have been mistaken. But I couldn't find any hidden menu either. Maybe it showed up cause o entered a destination?

To be honest, I've never used the destination feature on the Nav system - always used Google maps on my iPhone (paired to the Nav system, so I get the audio directions but it's very slow and often prompts me to turn after I've passed the intersection). I'm still a bit baffled about the hidden menu...My screen only has 'comp config' as an option to change things. Looked at all the features and tried accessing anything to do with maps and can't get anything to change over to the perspective view. I'll take a pic and post here later.

i found it, i couldn't get it to work the other day... what i did was use just one side of the button, dont hit it in the center. Then turn on perspective, then when back on the map view hit the bottom right dial twice and select perspective.

I kind of like the WAZE app, helps identify where accidents and potential radar speed trap sites are. which is why i wanted to get an android head unit. but i'm gonna wait and spend the money on other things now that i got this up and running.

Okay - up early as usual (insomniac...check out the time...). Took a shot of my Nav screen showing menu options. Config menu doesn't provide a settings option for the screen other than night mode and split screen, so perhaps I can't access the perspective view feature of the new Nav software? Any suggestions?

you gotta go into the Config Menu shown on the bottom right first. (some say settings, some sat Set, but it's that bottom left,) go in there using the right dial then hold the menu button for 10+ seconds. I had the car in key position 1 during this. maybe that makes a difference?
