Good read actually. Maybe the right answer is to get to spring and part company with both sets of my OEM wheels and go with something aftermarket. I would think between the two sets that I could easily offset the cost of a nice, shiny, new set and have the added benefit of buying them all in the same size, say 20x9.50 and running a decent tire that I could rotate
. Not to mention the added benefit of very likely dropping 60+ pounds of weight off the suspension! Thanks BC! Sent from my iPhone using Xoutpost.com |

Now is the time to buy a new set. I got my forgestars for around $1000 off during black friday of 2015. When with larger tires I think I dropped a fair amount of weight. Can't rotate my setup though.

Good call! Would actually love to do that, my limiting factor will be my wife... with my company going belly up from Covid, I’ve been unemployed for a fare bit... and it would be a tough sell convincing her that “I’ll gladly pay her Tuesday for a hamburger today”... (old Popeye reference there for us guys who are old enough) That said, I may see what’s out there, always better to be armed with good info vs “hey hun, I’m buying some new wheels (for the car you’d love me to sell)” ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Xoutpost.com |

Been awhile since I heard a Wimpy reference.
![]() Sorry to hear about the employment situation. 2020's been rough. If you can talk your wife into new wheels, you're a better salesman than I. Wives around the world can't wait for the day the E53 leaves the family stables.

Definitely appreciate that Yea, little hope of me convincing her that I need wheels, though she would happily buy in to the "leave it on jack stands until you sell all of your other junk and then buy wheels" school of thought - LOL No doubt she would love for me to part company with it, the problem is that I'm a gluten for punishment and already have her "aware" that I'm hunting for a 2013 E70 5.0i with M Package as soon as I'm gainfully re-employed and settled back in. Probably hang on to the E53 as well since I have all but rebuilt it at this point - and I really enjoy it! |
