Sure why not a DIY would be helpful for future members! Did you also do an extended drive shaft at the same time or no?

@Ricky Bobby - though I don't know what an "extended Driveshaft" is (other than a euphemism) I certain we only managed the chain.
@jgerry2002 - symptom: when accelerating especially from a stop, the car made a sound like rapid fire small caliber gun or another in the family thought of mechanical farting. From outside the car, the sound emanates from below the drivers seat area (LHD). In reality, the chain is stretched and is skipping over the splines that drive the front wheels. Our was bad enough to be an embarrassment.

Haha your X5 is a little gassy. That's alright, mine has started to let out a little toot here and there when I really get on it. I'm in for a new chain by winter.
