Axxis Deluxe Vs. Mintex Brake Pads

Here is my situation, I need to replace the brakes on my 01 X5. I have read that the Axxis Deluxe and the Mintex pads both last long, and reduce brake dust. I was set on buying the Axxis pads, but can't find them at any local locations. However I have found the Mintex pads at a parts store 2 miles away from my house. How much of a difference is there? Is it a large difference or a small one? Please help

Willie

Having had both, here is my feedback.

Brake Dust - I give a slight edge to the Axxis Plus. However, both the Mintex and the Axxis are head and shoulders better than the OEM pads.

Performance - I found both the Axxis and the Mintex to be comparable in performance, and every bit as good as the OEM pads

Longevity - I got only 23K from the OEM pads, which I thought was terrible. I got 57K from the Mintex Red Box pads - well over double the OEM pads. So far I only have about 1K on the Axxis, so it's too soon to tell how long they will last.

Contact Dave Z. at http://www.zeckhausen.com/ and he can send you a set of Axxis pads at a good price. Tell him that you were referred by X5world (UCrewX5) and see if he'll give you a discount

I also got a set of Axxis pads sent to me by Dave for about $100 front and rear. They are sweet. After brake in they feel as good as OEM and minimal dust Sorry I have never used Mintex.

I just installed new axxis pads plus brembo rotors on the front of my 2000 4.4 non sport.

I found these guys to be great. They ship out of Seattle, Wa and LA, so if you are on the west coast, shipping is cheap. http://www.importrp.com/home.php

i have heard that usually these pads that yes they do reduce dust, but then again might cause actual "squealing/squeaking" noise as some brakes pads do, the OEM ones are softer and therefor cause more brake dust but less noise or no noise at all.

I have Axxis ultimate that I got from Hayaku. Great stopping power, dust is the same as OEM, but maybe a little less and it really grabs even when cold. The Axxis ultimate is a more "sportier" version of the Axxis deluxe.

My experience with Axxis has been very positive.
Brake squeal is no more than OEM.

Here is the scoop. Since the Mintex were instantly available I went ahead and bought them. I will post my results when I am finished.

Thanks for the input.
