DSC not communicating but no faults displaying
Hi all.
I have INPA/ PROGMAN/ DIS/ NCS and recentyl tried to calibrate the steering wheel after a cv joint change, garage left it slightly off centre. While going through the set up the DSC would not communicate. I do not have any faults showing on the dash and nothing code wise either. Anyone have any thoughts? I have purchased another DSC module in the fear that the one I have is goosed. I have a 2006 N62 4.4 V8. |

get the steering wheel back to center, don't recalibrate the steering angle to compensate.

Actually that is the best way to fix it.
The wheel should always be straight. If the steering wheel was straight before then the wheel needs to be put back straight again. You can actually do this yourself pretty easily just adjust the tierod ends evenly till the wheel is back straight. Coding it to some off straight angle is a bad idea. If it wasn't straight before then it needs to be set straight and coded.

I do believe you both, just made me chuckle because its the obvious thing to do. I’ve since had to get brake pipes replaced and now after bleeding the system the brakes don’t feel as good as they were, and guess what the DSC needs to be bled and because it’s not communicating. Seems I’m a bit up the creek here...

I bought a brake bleeder from harbor freight which I am going to bet you don't have for a store chain there but its automatic so its worth finding one thru some store chain.
Here is one on amazon so you know what it looks like : http://amzn.to/2FfIBx5 You fill the narrow bottle with brake fluid. Take the brake reservoir cap off and put the valve side of the bottle into the reservoir. It balances there. Open the valve. It will keep the reservoir full while your bleeding the system. Next go to a wheel you haven't bleed yet. Attached the hose from the large tank container to the bleed fitting. Open the bleed fitting 1/4 turn or so. Attach an air compressor hose to the large tank. Pull the trigger and watch the fluid and air come out. When the bubbles stop tighten the bleeder fitting and then let off the trigger. That wheels brake is bled. Repeat for the other 3. Check the tank that's feeding the reservoir from time to time and refill if its getting low. Flawless brake bleeding and it will even pull thru the abs system. They make hand pump models if you don't have an air compressor but they are much slower and don't do quite as good of a job on stubborn systems but do ok most of the time.
