Lower Oil Pan Gasket

Hi Everyone - looks like I have a lower oil pan gasket leak. I have an 05 w/ 75K. I wanted to know how tough of a job is this ( I have no intention of doing it since I'm not mechanically inclined) but I don't want the mechanic to give me a song & dance about it either. Besides the gasket itself, does anything else need to be changed, such as the bolts that hold the pan? Are there any other things I should change or be aware of while the mechanic's there anyway such as sensors, etc.

All thoughts/directions are appreciated! Thanks

the V-8s are are fairly non-evasive and not overly difficult to replace.

The 3.0 on the other hand...UGH

Not that I've done one but it is a bear of a process that involves lifting the engine and removing part of the front differential and axles; alot of mech hours. I've read of some E46ers cutting the new gasket to install without involving the aforementioned. The pan can only be dropped hardly 1/4 inch (if that) and they snake the gasket into place and then reseal the two joined halves.

What. How do you blow your engine with changing a gasket? Please inform us. I am sure it will help others.
