I have two long time/good friends with very successful body shops, (one has 4 shops), in 2 different states.

No expert, but as they point out, 'eom'/oem quality/oem like, is seldom oe parts from the mfg'er.

Glad the OP has good coverage; beat on the adjuster via a better shop, imo.

This has been my experience. Every time I've had a claim the shop twisted the arm of the adjuster reasoning effectively as to why this part or that part was required.

So regarding the coverage you have a specific endorsement on your policy that states you will receive new OEM parts? If so then the you need to tell the adjuster to pound sand and move on and show them your policy. In general insurance policies frown on OEM parts coverage unless u bought the car new and it will usually drop off after 6-7 years or so.

On your bumper cover, your saying it has stress cracks which are surface or do they compromise the integrity of the bumper? If its surface and in the paint thats normal for paint to do that on impact and the shop should repair that as part of the estimate. You say the shop is great and your agent is great so is this adjuster with your insurance co or the body shop? And who wants you to go to a cut rate shop?

The owner of the insurance agency is a good family friend. since I've been screwed over before on a vehicle with lots of mods that is hard to find its an agreed value rider. Along with some kind of wording about parts that don't lower the value of the vehicle. like for like. Since my headlights are clean and clear I'm guessing it will be hard to get a used part that nice. This would be way easier except I had my dad take it in for the estimate
