Getrag 420G for AWD LWX500 TC

Hi!

After 45k km, the gearbox must get out for TC overhaul. I had the classic problem with front driveshaft with worn out slits.

Why did you remove the entire transmission instead of just the transfer case?

I also have a leak on the crankshaft sealing in the bellhousing and I also wanted to see how's the clutch doing.

Ah okay. That does make it a bigger job. Perfect time for a clutch job and a reseal while you're at it. Maybe even a UUC SSK.

Clutch's fine, installed it all new as the car was converted to manual. I'll also swap the diffs from stock 3.91 to 3.64 (are allready arrived) for better fuel economy on autobahn.

The other issue are the gaskets on intake - I feel the car leaks some power above 4000 rpm. The vanos gaskets will be also replaced next week, then I'll change the spark plugs, spark cables, ignition coils, crank sensor, camshaft sensors, bigger injectors, ccv membrane etc. Then the car will be dynoed just to know everything works fine, before the SC will be installed.
