Thanks for the info guys. I'll have a look at the heat valve just in case, but will take the advice and put refrigerant in it and call it a day ↑↑↑

A scan of the X shows that babyduke has a fan fault. Checked the static pressure on the low side and it was well over 100 psi. Cleared the fault, but the minute the engine was started, the fault returned.

NCA Motorsport at 5801 W Dempster Ave., Morton Grove, IL 60053 is a shop that I use sometime when I don't feel like working on the X.

Thank you again for your help! It was so hot out and driving back on Kennedy was a torture. What do you think about this model?

Seller has to many negative feedback.

I would stick with either a Genuine BMW replacement fan or a Behr fan. I brought a Behr fan when I had to replace my fan in order to get the AC to work in my car again.

Most of the cost to replace the fan is labor to replace the fan. Most shops will not warranty a fan that is given to them to install. It an approx 4 hours job to replace the fan since the bumper cover has to be removed along with the front bumper.

@ babyduke, one thing I didn't check was if the connector to the fan had 12 volts. If the connector doesn't have 12 volts, that would mean the fuse is blown and the only way that fuse get blown is if the fan shorted out. 12 volt is present at the connector all the time whether the key is on or off.

Would you mind telling me how and where to check? I do have a volt meter.

Also, should I try changing the fuse in the fusebox for A/C?

You can uncouple the fan connector that I showed you, and use your volt meter to test the two large wires at the connector for the harness from the car. There should be 12 volts at the two wires. If you have a blown fuse, replacing the fuse will not work until you replaced the fan. The only reason why that fuse would blow is if the fan is shorted.

Thanks. I'll try it this evening.
