Wheel compatability? Just curious

Can anyone tell me the compatability of other BMW Wheels that will fit the X5? Just curious if anyone knows.

Thanks,
David

Most Bmw wheels are compatible with the X5!The problem is that the X5 has a different OFFSET(ET).This determines wheather your wheels stick out of the bodywork, are level or go inwards.
Wheather a another Bmw wheel still fits ok on the X5,depends very much on the size of the wheel! To give you an example,we have a member here riding on 7-series wheels(19"s I think)but these stick out a bit! This is because the 7-series offset is smaller than the X5's!
If you know exactly which Bmw wheel you want,I can advice you further!

Yes I think they will fit. The RR (sport as well) and our X5 share similar wheels and tires specs.
Powers1 can confirm this for us.

I put 17" rims with new Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow 255/60-17".
The rims are from a 5-series, model ROUND-SPOKE STYLING (STYL.18), http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...13&hg=36&fg=15 , Part No. 36111093527
They fit O.K. BUT I have had them back for balances 3 times and it's still a "shake it" ride... I don't no why???? !!!
Please help!!

Since the wheels have been rebalanced 3 times ,lets assume they are ok,since the tyre place would not have been able to balance them if they were bent!
Are the tyres ok?What size wheel are you using? Are your tyres bulging out of your wheels?Your tyres could be warpped!Have you tried switching the front to rear tyres?
If not,you could have a suspension/axle component problem!Firstly ,you need to determine on which side of X the vibration is coming from and then start inspecting that suspension/axle.

The tires are brand new. 255/60/17 Pirelli Scorpion Ice&snow
The wheels are http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partsearc...1&mospid=47545

I think the problem is this:
"Centerbore - The wheel must, in most cases, fit the hub of the vehicle precisely, either as a direct fit or with the use of a centering ring. "-Tirerack.com The centerbore of the wheel is 1mm larger then the hub. The 1millimetres(0.0393 inches) difference is in diameter.

I can not use a centering ring because the difference is to small.

Oops!I assumed you wheels had the same centrebore as the X5!Bmw only use 2 centrebore sizes ,72.6 and 73.1mm.You wheels must be 72.6 which are
5mm short!Try to go to a lathe operator to do your centre rings .We have done it here before!Ensure that he uses aluminium material (compatible with wheel) and not steel.
