Swapped out Air suspension-weird code

Hey everyone-changed out to the Strutmasters kit and have the trifecta of 4x4/DSC/ABS lit up.

The code that is pulling is 5EB7, "Variant Coding-code again" stored in the DSC unit...

The Indy here has tried to clear without success, re-coded the DSC unit and is still getting the error.

Anyone familiar with this??

Thanks!

You have to code out the Air Suspension out of the actual VO on the vehicle, not just the ABS module...

The car has to think that Air Suspension was never installed, if that makes sense, otherwise you'll have the error...

I'm not sure Jay. I still haven't coded out anything on my X after the switch and I don't have the DSC Christmas tree - just the suspension inactive blinking on my cluster (I do have a bazillion suspension codes when I scan it though).

SASM5 stupid idea but maybe one of the ABS sensors got damaged or unplugged during the swap?

Thanks Ricky Bobby and 525IT...really appreciate the responses!

Ok, I've sent some links to my Indy RE: the VO stuff--I'll also feed them the thought on the ABS Sensors...

My wife is just about over this car at this point! Good news is that we got the Euro lights installed and BOTH working! I'll send pic's once I get this thing back in the garage.

Sorry Olek you're right, didn't get enough morning coffee. I thought he was mentioning SELF LEVEL SUSP ERROR

If you have ABS trifecta OP, along with "DSC Variant Coding - Code again" does your indy have BMW software and/or autologic to trouble shoot the module? Was the module ever replaced by previous owners?

Hmmm...not sure on either! The PO did swap out the front struts to Arnotts before I pulled them out for the swap-so I know some work had been done.

The guy they have working on it states he is quite familiar with the air suspension issues on these (their shop car is an E53 as well).

I appreciate the pointers. I'll ask them to go down the module track!

Yea just double check the sensors too. Easiest thing to check and they often get bent pins or don't snap in all the way. Just a thought.

Hopefully your next retrofit goes smoother. First the lights now the suspension.

So they are using autologic...does that change anything?

Its a great diagnostic system. There should be something telling them what to do with that fault code IIRC

Trifecta lights may be a bad abs sensor on the knuckle. Can be pinpointed/checked easily with inpa not sure about autologic. Removing air system shouldn cause trifecta just error message on dash.

If you were here on the east coast i could have deleted that error message for you, otherwise your best shot is a dealer if they will do it or another person around you that can.
