What does it say on TEST 6's 2nd screen...PHASE 1,2 or 3?

Likely your fuel pump is soft and going to fail soon. Soft failing fuel pumps cause the passive sucking jet pump to not transfer fuel efficiently enough.l

Easy to monitor the fuel level using the Hidden OBC Menu. The drivers/left side of the tank should never have more fuel than the passenger/right side below 1/2 tank unless you have cornered very hard to the right, but the drivers/left side should go to empty/0.00L very quickly.

Suggest you repalce the fuel pump now, before you are stranded. Keep the fuel tank between 3/4-1/2 full until the pump is replaced.

It looks like from those values that the Drivers/Left side of the tank has way more fuel than the Passenger/Right side.

Pretty classic soft fuel pump problem. Soft pump drops in pressure and volume.

You need to find a empty parking lot and do some Counter Clockwise Donuts to shift fuel to the Passenger/Right side of the tank.

Although the part number is different for the complete pump/sending unit assembly, I assume the actual pump may be the same as the E46.

I do not trust the German car fuel pumps after about 8 years, I just replace them.

I would replace the entire fuel pump/sending unit rather than tying to swap just the pump in the sending unit.

Also just keep the vehicle above 1/2 tank until you get the fuel pump replaced.

Use BMW Parts Catalog to get the part number.

Check BMA Auto Parts and use SPECE30 is 5% discount, they ship quick and often have good pricing, but also use this tool to check other suppliers and dealers - BMW Part Number Price Comparison for Windows & Mac
