Help with rear wiper motor

Hey guys I'm new here and I need some help. I changed the rear wiper motor on my moms 2002 X5 because it would stop working randomly. I went through the procedure of changing it and tested it to hear it work and figured it was good. I didn't know until after I got it back together and test running it that this motor was not working right. it stops in an incorrect position and the way it travels prevents me from just moving the wiper. The picture shows where it rests when stopped or turned off. it will move down to the bottom and then kick back up when turned on.

I was wondering if there is a calibration set up I need to do before I decide to replace it again.

I did this a few months ago. With the arm off, I turned it on and off so it went back to its "park" position, then tightened it down.

Also a good time to fit a snazzy E70 rear wiper arm...

Sorry I never responded back to this. Had a lot going on and have not had a chance to look at the Rear wiper issue. I took it off a few times and tried different spots for it but I think there's a problem with the motor itself.

I did a Youtube video of what its doing since It seemed hard to describe in words. I cant embed it for some reason though so heres the link

I ordered it OEM new through a parts distributor so it definitely isn't a knock off part.

That's got to be defective or something. Maybe it's a feature?

I don't think its a feature. I would hope not. I really don't want to take this motor back out but I don't think I have a choice. I think its doing a similar issue that the E46 front wipers would have with its motors since I had to take the front wiper motor apart on my parents E46 M3 for the same issue. I just didn't think that this problem would surface again elsewhere.

I dropped my wiper motor by accident when changing upper tailgate latch.
After I reinstalled if, I can hear it, but the arm won't move.
Looks like time for the new motor.
Is E70 wiper plug and play?

You should be able to move that arm little bit down by yourself, to the position it should be. i had same problem (in winter when it froze and I had to give a little push so it would start working again) but I just used a little force to put it back in right position
