Anyone know this X5??????

Hello, I live in the Dallas Ft.Worth area. I have been looking for a decent X5.
Today, I found a nice candidate.
Price is good,it showed and drove well.
The X5 I looked at is in Arlington Texas at a small dealership.
The year is 2004 and it's a Silver over black interior.
The engine is the 4.4i.
This E53 has been licensed in the Carolina's, Midland Texas,
San Antonio Texas. It just sold at a Dallas auction.
The mileage is 86K.
I'm trying to find a previous owner or some history about this car.
The only paper history I have is the owners manual.
Under DFW Craigslist there is an ad with pictures listed.
Perhaps you know this BMW.

Your initial post states 4.4, the ad shows 4.8.

Looked at the ad pics, it's a 4.4 in the ad. Owner states "new" condition, X clearly has damage on 3 of 4 corners, torn seatback pockets.

I would bet this is the same '04 I looked at on NW Hwy in Grapevine (EXACT same damage!), used car dealer had it out on the front line for almost a year. It was priced at $12k. I guess he took it to auction.

A few odd things about this one. Why the non 4.8is exhaust tips? Dinan? Why the 5 spoke wheels when we all have the seven spoke 168 wheels? Early model '04?

The under hood shot looks like a 4.8is but with the REALLY poor cell phone shots a dusk, I can not read the engine badge on the fender area.
What the VIN? Decode it and then we will know more.

Car is badged 4.4i
Vin shows 4.4i also.

It's not a cream puff. I saw that also.
TTL out the door 9K.

Is it worth buying?

Probably right at his costs. Hit him with financing and insurance costs that he has been eating while it has been sitting there. Moving this metal will free up funds for more profitable units on his lot....Bottom Feeders
