alarm issue

recently my X5 alarm trigger 20% of the time, is there anything i can do ?

It's your hood sensor part number 8352229

To be 100 % sure unplug the sensor wait 24h

I've seen leaking air suspension cause alarm issues.

I set mine off by jacking it up with it locked .

I don`t have a pic but I am sure its at the right rear of the hood. its like a black push button or switch.

ok thanks will take a look tomorrow ? will the sirens shut down after a certain times if its not turn off ?

E53 Hood Sensor switch is located near the rear of the engine bay on the passenger side...see pic below:


The information about the alarm siren is in the owners manual...note the text highlighted in yellow:
