Make sure you put them on some wood and have them face away from each other.

One of the bellhousing bolts stripped the threads from the block when I took it out. The block thread material stuck to the bolt threads. It's totally stripped. Should I put a time-sert in there?

Depends on which spot that bolt was, some of them are straight trough, theoretically it should be possible to take a extra long generic bolt, drive it trough and secure it with nut on other side, nut may need to be filed down for custom fit. Another solution to go size up, make a new tread and drill bigger hole on tranny side.. Or, just may be, if it is one of 9 (dont rememner how many are there) it is ok to leave it be - for this, may be some one with deeper engineering/mechanical knowledge can comment.

It's a blind hole, so I think I'm going to try a time-sert.

I can't get the D/E assembly out. It's loose; it moves back and forth a fraction of an inch when I push it around. Something's blocking it though. I haven't yet pulled out the jump tubes/sealing sleeves. Would these block the assembly? If not, any other ideas?

you need to take out the jump tube and sleeves ... they are blocking the assembly ... once you remove the jump tube and sleeve you should be able to get to the rest.

Thanks that worked.

For reference, here's a really nice disassembly thread:

Besides the bearing that failed, all of my internals look really good, including the clutches and steels. What is the thinking on replacing the clutches and steels? Should I do it even if they look good?
