Are these sensor haning around in my enginer compartment?

Hi Guys,

Bought last week a 2005 X5 4.4. Had already some adventures with it - I am always 'lucky' with choosing the dealer.

I opened the bonnet to figure out why the pump for the windscreen washer is not working (couldn't figure it out). Then I saw two things over the right wheel (standing in front of car) that look like 'sensor' dangling around (wtf???) and also one small tube poking up. Not connected anywhere which might be some kind of ventilation.

Any clues what it is and where they belong would be highly appreciated. Pictures attached.
