Your search will yield the like of Brembo, Stoptech,PBR, Rotora etc. It would have been neat to retrofit a set of X5M or X6M brakes. These kits actually cost less then the aftermarket brembos.

Can you upgrade to the 4.8is brakes?

I think he already has IS brakes. 2005 4.8 is the IS. Upgrading from here would be the order of Brembos, Stoptech, etc.

I have looked at the Brembos, Stoptech, etc but was wondering if the M3 M5 M6 brakes fit or even 7 series brakes or is it just a case of having to fit Brembos, Stoptech Cheers

Considering retrofitting the M3 M5 M6 brakes it all depends what year vehicles you are considering since you want rotors that should be bigger then the 356mm diameter and 35mm rotor thickness of the 4.8is. After that its a matter of looking at the offsets and caliper mounts to see if they even align. I think its just easier and already done for you with the aftermarket Brembo, Stoptechs, etc.
