E53 seat swap

I know you can swap E46 seats into an E53 and vice versa. It's simply a plastic trim piece along the base that gets swapped at the same time. I also know you have to be careful when purchasing used seats, because the seats can store crash data that could cause an Air bag fault like to come up.

My question to everyone is. Can you swap the E46 convertible sport seats into an E53?

Well if you can swap from vert to sedan/coupe, then they'll physically fit. If its a good idea or not is another question. Sounds like the seat contains the seatbelt assembly
Would heated seats from an e46 M3 CONVERTIBLE fit in a 330ci e46? - E46Fanatics

Yup it's a bad idea. My search for tan sport seats continues.
