The story...Day 1... decided to try a mobile mechanic service here in LA. Great reviews on Yelp, so I gave them a try. We had the right CV axle replaced at about 100K miles along with new brakes & rotors on all four wheels. About a week ago my wife reports the clicking sound from the left front wheel, which is typical symptom. We are now at 103K miles So I set up an appointment for CV axle replacement and mechanic shows up yesterday. He says the CV axle is fine, and the problem is the wheels nuts (all 4 wheels) were not torqued properly, and he tightens then with a hand torque wrench. He says CV axle doesn't need to be replaced, but finds a couple non-urgent items to report. I test drive the car with him, and it's driving good.
Day 2 - This morning, my wife goes to take our kid to school and returns a few minutes later and says the X5 is making an awful thudding noise, and she wants to swap cars. I call the mobile mechanic company, and they can't send the same guy, but they can send a different mechanic. He came this afternoon, test drove the car, and has no idea what is the problem. Mechanic #2 is supposed to call #1 and get back to us.
Anyone here seen this before based on the video and offer help/suggestion?
