I went with chrome because of the brake dust. I don't have time to clean the wheels every week....... It's a lot easier to clean chrome.

I'd go with polished if someone had a reputable source.....

Chrome 19" Y-spoke for me booooooooyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!1

I like the chrome effect, but yes they are a little "gaudy". Couldn't pass on such a good deal, 4 rims for $400 shipped. They are used with some curb rash but otherwise A-ok.

If they were silver, you could touch them up. But I'll agree, chrome with certain colors and the right lighting can look stunning.

I'm not one for "bling" or "rice" but I definately agree some Chome 20's (Style 87) look great on the X5. Just look at BaKer414's ride, now thats just sexy and not overdone like some other rims. BTW - I have the same color and thinking about buying those rims.

Also, I think the type of tire can make a huge differnece. I can't stand very low profile tires, too much gap in the wheel well and they can make the car look like its a horse and buggy from Lancaster PA.

Chrome 87's for me, the only chrome on the car to make it shine in the summer, polished almuminum is nice as well, just need a little bling.
There is chrome on the edge of the kidney grills and the roundel on the back and front, so the chrome wheels compliment each other.

Thats all

Particularly when chrome seems to be it for 2006 with example SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a few other high powered models are all coming out with chrome rims, Escalade, Yukon Denali, Hummer, Navigator, ChevySS, Infiniti FX,GS, Lexus LS,GS,IS, Range Rover Sport (option), Bentley, Rolls Royce, etc etc etc.......Chrome seems to be coming back-Dont be afraid embrass...:-)

Polished or Chrome on a black X5 would be very cool, the problem here in the UK is too much salt on the roads during winter.

wanted my 20" 168 polished but was advised against it.
