Yes it does, so I guess its that "carrier". I'll dissasemble it in the weekend and let you know if its that part.

before u take anything apart make sure its not on child lock this happened to me a few days ago where i thought the ouside handle broke again and it was on child lock..

Child lock on does not allow a person to open the door from the inside. He is able to open the door from the inside.

Didn't find any mechanical child switches in the cars doors themself so I guess this car doesn't have them. The switch in the drivers door board seems to work alright.
