That sucks - how long did it take with that scissor jack? I can usually swap a tire pretty quickly when I need to, but getting my 4.8 high enough with that thing took almost an hour on the side of the road.

Willy's 1:18 diecast X5 in Imola Red sitting on my 1:1 X5 in Imola Red. It's a pre-facelift 4.4, but it's on drilled and slotted rotors with black grills. Yes, I am thinking about painting the kidneys and wheels to match mine, and yes I do have a small can of Imola Red paint so I could hypothetically paint the door handles and rear lip to match.

Yeah, it's really just a matter of time. I've suddenly found myself looking up 1:18 diecast models of all the cars I own or wish I still owned. These things get expensive.

At the weekly car meetup here in Scottsdale. It was pretty hot but there were still lots of cool cars. My 4.6is looked really nice after a good round of detailing. The car next to me is a 1996 740il painted in Imola Red that a buddy of mine owns, it's pretty sweet.

Drove past an imola red e38 earlier today while looking at houses with the wife. I would definitely rock one of those... especially in the rare 6spd version.

They never made any 6-speed E38's for the US, but a few enthusiasts have created their own through swapping. The guy who was parked next to me is actually in the process of swapping his to a 6-speed.

Really? We had a customer who used to bring his in to the shop from time to time. One of our SA's also had an e38 and I could have sworn he said you could order them with a 6spd...
