My opinion, best iPhone cradle/charger

this is old technology but I cant find a better (or cheaper) iPhone stand/charger that gets my phone in the perfect position for navigation while its charging. Even looked into the expensive Speck dock that was suggested - but seems too far down at the ash tray.

BUT you will need a "lightning" adaptor. I bought cheap ones from China ($1. each on Ebay) and its hit or miss if they stop working "this accessory is not authorized by apple, blah, blah"

Guy selling these New Old Stock charger stands on eBay for $6 with shipping!! -

This is the official Apple adaptor:

My phone is an iPhone 5S

LAST photo is an iPhone 6 PLUS (you cant use the side strap so a little less secure.

Not bad. I'm currently using the iOttie car mount. It's pretty sturdy and makes it super easy to take the phone on and off quickly.

But it would be great to have a mount that also charges. How sturdy is this one? Meaning: does the phone move during acceleration/turning?

Also, does the lightning adapter cover the 3.5mm jack on the bottom of the phone? I'd still like to be able to hook the phone into my aux jack.

The stick part is very sturdy, but there is a pivot to move the phone into horizontal which is looser than it should be. I put a drop of glue back there as I never use horizontal.
Sometimes pulling out the phone the lighting adaptor will stay attached - another drop of glue.....

Yes, the output jack is still assessable.

Do you have any earth 'noise' issues when listening to music through the aux input, while the iPhone is being charged through your cigarette lighter jack (lightning chord)?

nope, no interference.
But I want to clarify - this low tech, the lighting connector and mount just for charging.

Input into BMW radio AUX amp with the iPhone 3.mm headphone jack

If you look at the Specdeck, there product gives you charging and audio output through the lighting connection, but its also $129., AND in my opinion is too far away sitting in the ashtray.

I may have to try a different usb charger, as the current one I use generates a horrid earth buzz that makes listening to music via the 3.5mm jack into the aux input unbearable. Not a biggie, as I usually just unplug the charger/cable and it's fine then.
