Dead Battery?

I was away for 2 weeks, I tried to start my x5 4.4 and the car want turn over. I tried charging the battery for 1/2 hour but still nothing. Any suggestions?

How old is the battery? You probably need a new one.

Half hour not enough time!Your oem battery is 90 AH!Charge it on a low charge(6 amp) for 15 hours (6ah x15=90ah)to give you a full charge.It is advisable to unscrew your battery terminal top covers to let your battery breath as it is charging.

Rckarl,
Dont know if you are following your owners manual instructions "on how to charge your battery",but eventhough its a pain I always prefer to disconnect the battery +/- terminals rather that charge up front.
Dont get alarmed if you see the yellow DSC,ABS warning lights come on immediately after you start your car!This is normal and is basically your electronics resetting themselves and the lights will go out after driving for a few yards.
