Trying to recharge my a/c. Have a 134a can

and attached a gauge but the coupler won’t fit either port. Of course I want the low-pressure port but now I’m not sure which is the correct port to attach the coupler. I originally thought the low-pressure port is the one that is closer to the passenger wheel well. I doubt it’s the one that is closer to the top of the radiator loser to the passenger side. I’m thinking maybe I need a different gauge from the auto parts store. Am I right that it is between the wheel well and the engine block?

I'm thinking that if you don't know what you are doing to take it in. If you can't get the coupler on, that tells me you don't know what you are doing. If you use a real manifold gauge set you should be able to connect to both the high side port and low side port, but if you try charging the system from the high side, bad thing can happen really fast.

Too many lawyers that would sue someone giving out advice on the internet in which someone hurt themselves because they listen to someone on the internet.

My advice is to take it in to someone who is qualified to work on AC system.

The low pressure side should be a different size connection than the high pressure side.

+1 on what upallnight says. Judging by the questions you are asking you really should not be messing with it.

Thanks anyway. The coupler was bad as it would go on but then slip right off. Ended up buying another can and gauge. A/C now blows cold air.
